Rest In Peace Grandpa ♥

Chester H. Rudzinski, 79, of Worcester, a wonderful husband, father and grandfather, died Friday, January 9, 2009, at home.

He leaves his wife of 57 years, Teresa A. (Pielaszczyk) Rudzinski; seven children, Donna Starr of Denver, Co., Karen Goldman and her husband Robert of St. Croix, USVI, David Rudzinski and his wife Patricia of Worcester; Debora Anthony and her husband Kurt of Colchester, Vt., Stephanie Benttinen of Norridgewock, Me., Martha Morin and her husband Matthew of Rutland; and a son, Kevin Rudzinski who predeceased him; 10 grandchildren and 3 great-grandhcildren. He also leaves 3 brothers,
Theodore Rhodes of Florida; Joseph Rudzinski of Baltimore, Md., and Robert Rudzinski of Worcester; 2 sisters, Marion Bergman of Florida and Bernice Checheta of Worcester and nephews and nieces.

He was born in Worcester, a son of Wincenty and Mary (Swillo) Rudzinski and lived here all his life. He worked as a tool and dye maker for General Electric Co., in Worcester and later G.E. Telechron Co., in Ashland for many years until retiring in 1993. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed hunting and gardening. Mr. Rudzinski was a U.S. Navy veteran serving two enlistments and was a Korean war veteran. He served aboard the USS Baltimore when it served as the United States flagship for the Coronation of Queen Elizabeth II. Chester was a member of Our Lady of Czestochowa Church.

The private funeral and Memorial Mass will be held at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Our Lady of Czestochowa Church, 34 Ward St., Worcester, Ma., 01610. HENRY-DIRSA FUNERAL SERVICE, 33 Ward St., has care of the arrangements.
